Gian Paolo Rossi is a Professor of Medicine at the University Medical school of Padova where he is also the chairman of Internal Medicine 4 and the Hypertension Specialized Center. He received his basic training in Padova and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and is a specialist both in Cardiology and Endocrinology. Professor Rossi is a member of numerous scientific societies including being the coordinator of the working group on primary hyperaldosteronism in the Italian Society of Hypertension and PI of the GENICA Study, a large study on the genetic and environmental determinants of coronary artery disease. He has published more than 360 full papers in peer-reviewed journals with a focus on the mechanisms of hypertension and atherosclerosis. Prof Rossi and his team published multiple publications on the role of Lp-PLA2 in vascular inflammation and cardiovascular risk stratification.
